Ferdinand Oechsle Stube
The Ferdinand Oechsle Stube links the history of the Buhlbach valley with the world of wine. It is named after the inventor of the must hydrometer, who was born here and whose name the unit of measurement bears to this day. The open room has space for up to 34 people.

Our menus
Our à la carte menu changes with the seasons. You will find summery starters and soups, fish from the Black Forest and further afield, and meat dishes ranging from Swabian Zwiebelrostbraten, a rump steak with roasted onions, to saddle of venison. There are vegetarian dishes too, and something sweet to finish.

Wine culture with a history
Ferdinand Oechsle was born in the Buhlbach valley in 1774 and developed the must hydrometer, an instrument for measuring must weight and with it the quality of ripening grapes. That connection to wine lives on in the dining room named after him. It is a stylish setting for selected wines, finely composed dishes and conversations that are happy to run a little longer. A tribute to the inventive spirit of the region and to a wine culture that is still thriving today.
